On May 18, Marie had an encounter with the Holy Spirit during the night. The Lord was speaking to her out of Deuteronomy 28:1-13, concerning the overwhelming blessings that He holds for those who will walk in obedience and righteousness in these last days – living by the lifestyle of the Sermon on the Mount. Then on May 30, Mike Bickle of the International House of Prayer in Kansas City spoke on the eternal rewards of those who overcome and walk in loving obedience. It is clear that the Holy Spirit is emphasizing these things to encourage us, and to give us an anchor point of hope during the stressful days that are before us.
Here is Marie’s record of her encounter. We encourage you to read and meditate upon these blessings, and ask the Holy Spirit to lead you further into a lifestyle of loving obedience and growth in righteousness.
Blessings on you! Gary Wiens
I Chased Him and He Answered in the Night
Sunday evening Gary and I went to see the movie The Chronicles of Narnia: Prince Caspian. A scene in the movie gripped me when I saw the little girl, Lucy, searching desperately for Aslan the Lion when they were being defeated by the evil king and his men. Lucy had been telling her brothers and sister all along that she could sense Aslan’s presence, but they all thought she was imaging things. However when all their methods of defeating the King were exhausted they agreed to send her off to find Him, because He became their only hope. Lucy was unique because she was always searching for Aslan with a yearning in her heart to be close to Him.
After leaving the movie, I could not get off my mind the fact that she went searching for Him. Something began to stir in my heart about searching for the Lion myself. For some reason I had never thought about chasing Him until I found Him. So before I went to sleep I chased Him in my prayers, telling God that I wanted to find Him and have an experience with Him. I wanted His presence as Lucy desired it and I knew that if that would happen the Lord would wake me in the middle of the night.
I am not a morning person and I really enjoy uninterrupted sleep, so when I awoke in the middle of the night and was wide awake, I had a sense that I had chased Him and found Him. When I got out of bed and arrived downstairs it was 3:31AM. As I sat in my chair with my Bible in hand I asked the Lord what He wanted and I sensed He told me to look at Deuteronomy 28:13 and to pray over myself that “I am the Head and not the Tail.” According to Jamieson, Fausset, and Brown’s Commentary, this is an Oriental form of expression, indicating the possession of independent power, great dignity, and acknowledged excellence. If we will keep His commandments we will rise more and more in dignity and power, whether it be spiritually or physically. This high condition was realized in the reigns of David and Solomon, and it would have been longer maintained had the Israelites adhered to the conditions of their covenant with God.
As I considered these things for some time, I sensed Him directing me to Deuteronomy 28:1-13 and He began to give me a download of information that was so precious and encouraging for all of us. It was so encouraging to me that the Lord was saying how much He has for us and how much leadership he intends to give us. It reminded me of when I use to speak to my teenage boys before they would go out to drive their car. I would ask them to obey the laws and come in at a certain time and there would be rewards for them doing as I said. I knew that some of the things that they might do could have serious ramifications on their lives to come. In this same way what we do now matters in our present life and the one to come. There is congruity between the two.
In the beginning I was not going to share this because I felt it was very personal, but as I prayed into this the next day, the Lord showed me that I must share it with all our friends because this was from the Lord’s heart to all of His children that have kept His commandments. This word is so loving and kind from the Lord and must be prayed over by each person who reads this. Then run after the Lord in prayer and thanksgiving saying to Him “Yes, I will keep your commandments because of your love for me and the things you desire to give me.”
I am going to write below now, word for word as I sensed He gave this to me in the middle of the night:
1. Because you obey my voice and you carefully observe my commandments, He will set us high above the nations with authority and power.
2. Blessings will come upon you, and many great things.
3. We will be blessed wherever we go.
4. Blessed will be the fruit of our body. Our health, our speech, our work and thoughts.
5. Blessed are the things I plant. Spiritually and by hand, my words, my garden.
6. My investments in business, family and friends will increase.
7. We will be blessed when we go in and when we go out. Wherever we go.
8. Enemies that try to defeat us will be defeated by the Lord. We will not have to seek revenge. We will see His vengeance demonstrated before our eyes.
9. We will see our enemies come out one way and then scatter seven ways.
10. Our Father, our dad, our God, will command the blessing on us in the storehouses and in everything we set our mind to do.
11. God’s love will bless us in the land He is giving us; our home, the things we create, our place of prayer, our families.
12. The Lord is establishing us as His holy people, so walk in His ways and keep His commandments always.
13. All the people that we come in contact with or know us will respect us because they will know God has established His name on us. They will know that we belong completely to Him.
14. Because of our obedience to His word, the Lord will grant us all we need. The work of hands will be blessed; the ground will produce an abundance for us and all the gifts that our fathers forfeited will be given to us because of our obedience.
15. His treasures, the things of heaven will be opened to us and we can be confident they are coming.
16. We shall give away much, but never have to borrow
All of this will be given to us if we see Gods commandments as loving warnings of the plain facts of life. The Sermon on the Mount is Jesus’ teaching of the lifestyle that God is looking for among His children. God is warning us to stay away from harmful wrong doings to others, to keep our anger and fear in check and to be kind to others. He was telling me that He had so much for us if we would just chase after Him.
Grace and peace to you. Marie Wiens

| | Jo Sappenfield | 9/27/2008, 5:25 AM | | I am new to this ministry and to this web page, but this word from the Lord is timely for me in that this passage of scripture is in the portion of the Torah that is read and meditated on in synagogues and messianic congregations world wide during this past week. I was not born into the Covenant people of Israel, but adopted into that tree by faith in the Lord Jesus Christ and this particular Word brings a relevant confirmation that the favor of God is in our future and that the righteousness of the law is fulfilled in those that believe and who keep His commandments as a result of their faith in Him. Thank you for being the instrument chosen by God to bring this Word. I say, "YES" "YES" and Amen!

(Guest) | 12/26/2008, 11:23 PM | | wow.ive learned that my most intimate moments w God have been late at nite, even to be awakened. what I do want to agree w you on is the fact that since we were made in the Lords image and we want to be pursued, whether male or female, don't you think the Lord wants to desperately be pursued? of course. in a phone conversation earlier tonite I was telling a friend that the Lord had recently been telling my if I want to hear Him clearly on things i Must search for Him. funny how I'm now reading this letter abt God telling another child to chase Him.also, how very sweet the Creator of the universe, our Holy God, would be vulnerable and reveal that aspect of Himself to us and tell us He wants to be chased. I Love It! give me more!

He wants a pure heart, an ongoing fellowship w Him, and obedience. in a nutshell, this is what every dashing groom would expect from his blushing bride....is it not?
