This passage in Zechariah speaks directly to the nation of Israel, but has implications for America in this time. As a nation, we have repeatedly refused to allow God’s Word or His Spirit to set the standard for our laws, our practices, our values, our morals, our education, our entertainment, our economy, or our personal lives. We have treated Him disdainfully and arrogantly.

In the past, God has kept a covering over America, one of favor and unity, but we are being warned that God is preparing to remove that covering, and to turn this nation over to leadership that is worthless. The spirit of the Antichrist is growing in the world and in America, and this nation has been seduced into agreement with the enemy.

If the people of God do not repent and cry out for mercy, we will find ourselves in great difficulty. The Lord will permit whatever level of pressure is required for us to turn from wickedness and seek His face in prayer until He answers and restores the land. These warnings have come repeatedly from the prophetic voices, but have gone largely unheeded. We believe that this nation has crossed a line of offense against God, and that we are being positioned for judgment—that judgment being that we will have leadership that disdains and ignores the Word of God and His ways. We will reap the fruits of our own rejection of God’s ways.

The white lion speaks obviously of Jesus. He is present with His people. He is peaceful and calm, but He is holy, pure, and set on conquering. He is coming as the purifying fire of Malachi 3, motivated by love and passion. Jesus is intent on leading us into the beauty of holiness, and He will walk with us in this mode day by day. He is not anxious or angry, just holy and determined.

The prophetic voices are being motivated by the Holy Spirit to raise the level of awareness of the trouble that is coming. We must prepare by watching and praying. When the apostle Peter was facing his time of crisis, he thought he was prepared, but Jesus told him that even though his spirit was willing, his flesh was not prepared to stand under the pressure that was about to be released. The only place of preparation is to watch and pray, to intercede over these times, and to allow the purity and holiness of God’s presence to fill us and make us ready.

In Jeremiah 5, the Lord Himself releases powerful enemies against His people because they have repeatedly refused His Word that came through His prophets. Because of their obstinacy, God finally has no recourse but to raise up wild animals that come to attack the people. In Israel’s history, these wild animals were enemy nations that attacked and destroyed God’s people.

Again, there are implications for America here. We cannot fight what God is releasing with normal means, i.e. political processes, legal processes, or any other natural means. God is not only permitting the wolf to come, He is commanding it. His purpose is to awaken His people to a holy fear, to repent from wickedness, and to wage war in holiness through intercession and worship. These are the weapons of God’s Kingdom, and we can no longer ignore them.

We urge our readers to renew your commitments to prayer and fasting, and to studying the topics of God’s beauty, the passion of Jesus for His Bride, and the fact that Jesus is preparing to return to the earth very soon. These times are upon us. The storm that accompanies the end of this evil age is brewing, and we cannot ignore that fact any longer.

In Zechariah 4, the prophet sees a vision of two olive trees from which oil is pouring out. The statement God gives the prophet is powerful for us today:

Only by the power of the Holy Spirit released through intercession and worship can the issues of the day be addressed. Godly leaders must arise who have a true anointing, not just strong personalities and business plans. Only the power of God can solve the issues that confront us, and we are not prepared.

God has a solution: we must seek Him in intercession and worship. We must repent of compromise and unrighteousness, and we must fix our gaze on the beauty of Jesus and be satisfied with nothing but His presence. To that people, God will release His gracious power for transformation and healing.
