Financial Disaster Coming?
A few weeks ago, I was speaking to the mother of a stock broker in New York and we were discussing the volatility of the stock market. She mentioned that her daughter, the stock broker, had told her that she is expecting a critical downturn in the market soon, due to the crisis in the mortgage and housing industry.
Early in the morning on November 6 I awoke trembling because of a powerful dream that Gary and I believe was a warning from the Lord. In my dream I was at a mountain retreat with many of our friends. I went outside and looked miles down into a valley as if I were right in the valley. I saw a battle going on between the forces of good and evil and everyone was on horseback. Suddenly I saw all the good people killed. I knew they were going to come and kill all of us also, so screaming in terror, I ran to get Gary. I told Gary to get our horse so we could escape.
Suddenly a woman came up to me and she wanted to show me all her new clothes and jewelry she had just purchased. I told her I did not have time and that we must escape. Gary and I were the only ones who escaped and the others were killed. Gary and I believe this woman represents the American Church that is preoccupied with materialism and self-indulgence, and is oblivious to the things that are coming upon us.
I woke up trembling and Gary prayed for me. I then prayed that the Lord would reveal the meaning of this dream to me and very clearly I heard the word “Financial.” I had a knowing that the Lord was warning us of a pending financial disaster coming to America. My sense was that the Lord was saying this would involve the stock market. I also sensed from the dream that the worst will begin in about six months to a year.
We have been praying about this and asking the Lord for confirmation. Today the stock market fell again. We went to our bank, Washington Mutual, to ask them what percentage of their assets are tied up in mortgage lending and what is their debt to asset ratio. At our branch bank today there was a man from corporate headquarters who is Washington Mutual’s financial advisor for investments. He told us that this bank is one of the largest mortgage lending banks in the U.S. and that they have made some very foolish loans as did others. He seemed angry at the mistakes they have made and said the worst is yet to come. He felt the bottom will hit in about 12 months. This seemed to us like confirmation of the message of my dream.
My advice to everyone is to pray about this and ask the Lord to give each of you insight and get out of debt as soon as you can. Today on the financial news they were forecasting that retailers are expecting poor Christmas sales and oil prices are the highest they have ever been.
I feel the Lord is sending us a warning to be cautious, to ask questions and to pray.

Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways acknowledge Him, and He shall direct your paths. Proverbs 3:5-6
I recently read an article by Marie Wiens of Burning Heart Ministries in which she had had a dream from the Lord. It’s a short article and I include it here but it is only one of many words predicting financial crisis. All emphasis is mine.

Just for the record, I am NOT an alarmist, but I do consider myself a realist. The reality is that everyone, including the world and the church, believes that financial crisis is imminent, especially for the US. The problem is that most of us have not been taking things seriously. Many are totally oblivious. The enemy has lied to us and told us that there is nothing we can do and we’ll just have to hope that it doesn’t really happen or that we’ll just have to ride it out and hope for the best.
Surely the Lord God does nothing, unless He reveals His secret to His servants the prophets. Amos 3:7
Here is what I hear the Spirit saying:
Let he who has ears to hear, hear what the Spirit is saying.
Now is the time to seek My Face for discernment, understanding and wisdom concerning your finances. Now is the time to prepare for that which is coming. Get out of debt. Ask Me and I will give you the wisdom you need to be obedient. Lean not to your own understanding for, if you do, you will fall. No matter what your circumstances, whether you have nothing or you have much, seek My Face as to what I would have you do with whatever you do have. He, who in faith does the Word of the Lord and does not despise it, shall come through the fire without even the smell of smoke upon his garments.
I will even make a road in the wilderness and rivers in the desert. Isaiah 48:19
Many have fallen prey to a spirit of hopelessness. This will increase as the looming financial crisis becomes more apparent. Beloved, I desire that My own be a light in the midst of the coming darkness as you walk in obedience to the Light of My Word. My glory shall shine forth upon those whose hearts are fully surrendered to Me and you shall walk in grace and abundant peace that passes all understanding. The world will marvel at your peace. The world will marvel at My Love flowing through you to those in need. Through you the world will see and know I AM God and I AM Faithful and True to those who love Me and obey Me.
This is not a time to fear. It is a time to trust and obey. It is a time to seek My Face with ALL your mind, heart and strength. Only I know the beginning from the ending. If you will seek ME first, then all else will be added unto you. I have a plan and a purpose for you, says the Lord, and it is for your good and not for evil.
Let he who has ears to hear, hear what the Spirit is saying.
As in all things, through prayer test the spirit and see if it be of God.
His servant in faith, Susan Leslie

| | | Bonnie Comar | 11/20/2007, 2:06 PM | | I recently returned from an overseas short term mission trip to Kazakhstan to work along side a small group (6 ladies calling themselves the Hands of Mercy) devoted to caring for the widows and orphans in their land. They presently have 93 widows they care for and having followed them around for 5 days, the way I would describe them is the Mother Theresas of Kazakhstan. They have given all to serve their Lord and Savior Jesus and love Him with a passionate love I have yet so see here in America.
When I sought the Lord to show me what the purpose of my being there was, since the little pitiful help we were to them was more of a distruption than a help, He showed me something that matched the thought in this financial warning. Jesus commanded us to pray for workers to the harvest and I have. Here I was meeting those very workers. But, they had needs. The needs are financially based. How can I expect workers to work in the field without the necessary tools to get the work done. I said to the Lord, but so many of us say, "...the poor will always be with us and there is so much need...were do we start?" and with that we end up doing nothing but going about our business as usual.
So, I've surrendered myself to the Lord and look to Him to transform me into His image. These ladies will have a prominent place in my heart for prayer and financial support. And I take the Lord's warning to heart, I will not lean on my own understanding but look to Him daily and throughout the day to see what He would have me do. I know He loves me and is willing AND able to do this in me. Praise Jesus.
| | | C. Rudy (Guest) | 2/7/2008, 3:44 AM | | Thanks for being a messenger for the Lord in all this. It is something I have been in much prayer for since my time on staff at IHOP-KC in 2002. The fragile reality of the blessing on this country and the support for the mission field which has, I believe, sustained our economy way beyond grace is in a very delicate spot. A whole hearted turn to the Lord is very necessary at this time. There are promises of provision and pockets of refuge. Let us have His wisdom to be providers like Joseph during this time, in Jesus name I pray. Also, He keeps speaking of the laborers for the harvest. Let the provision be abundant and recognizable for the laborers.

We have discovered that precious metals are rapidly increasing in value at the same time our fiat currency, the US Dollar is rapidly decreasing in value. We believe it is likely that our currency will continue to be devalued and slide in its worth and value. We believe that “real money” is God’s money, silver and gold. We believe that silver is more profitable than gold for a number of reasons.
Studying diligently has proven helpful for us. We want to encourage you to do the same as soon as you can. Each of us must do our own due diligence if we are to benefit from an opportunity unprecedented in the history of the United States. At present there is a short squeeze occurring in the silver markets.
A short squeeze is an exciting financial event which could drive silver to $100/oz. very quickly. A short squeeze happens when those who hold shorts on the commodity market for silver must sell, thus buying back the silver they sold-silver they did not have.

| | | Lyn C-J (Guest) | 7/29/2008, 5:20 AM | | Something is not right here! What good will gold or silver be when there is no food to buy? Anyone remember a song from many years ago by Larry Norman called 'I Wish We'd All Been Ready'? There is a line which says '..a piece of bread could buy a bag of gold.'
More importantly, Jesus told us not to lay up treasure on earth, but to lay up treasure in heaven for where our treasure is, there will our heart be also. We need treasure in our heavenly bank account that will not only not rust but will not be able to be stolen! Also it will surely be accrueing interest to our account! This will be our supply in the days of need. This is the only safe place to store. So our sister who has devoted herself to pray and give to the 'Mother Theresas' of Kazakhstan is a wise woman, following the commands of our Lord Jesus. Has He not promised to be our Provider? We do not need to scheme and work out how we will survive in a financial crisis. We need to do what He tells us to do. 'Give and it shall be given to you - good measure, pressed down and running over.' God bless you all! Lyn
| | | Daniel H (Guest) | 8/8/2008, 7:11 PM | | I agree with Lyn in that we are to follow the guidance of the Holy Spirit and that giving to the poor is an investment in the Kingdom of Heaven. We are stewards of what our Father has given us. Giving to the poor and investing in silver can both be investments in the context of the Kingdom of God as we practice stewardship and seek to obey Him and follow His advice.
Yes, gold and silver won't help if there is no food to buy, but few of us are in a position to grow a significant part of our own food. The best we can do for now may be to try to purchase a supply of some long-term storable foodstuffs and possibly grow some fruit and/or vegetables wherever we live... and listen to the Holy Spirit and move when we are directed to move.
As long as food may be purchased, it is prudent to try to invest in such a way as to protect the purchasing power of the finances with which our Father has entrusted us during a time when our fiat currency is rapidly losing value. Investing in silver does seem to be good advice for those who have substantial savings and want to be good stewards.
I have been investing in the Prudent Bear mutual fund with a large portion of what our Father has given into my care, and I believe that I'm doing so at the direction of the Holy Spirit. The Holy Spirit has directed me to sell my home reasons seemingly being to enable me to move quickly in the future and to have available the equity from the home, and to get out of debt. I am praying about what our Father would have me do with the proceeds from the sale, since I am steward of that money for His sake.
Shalom,
Daniel

May God Save the poor!
